the dog

smiling, grinning
sitting there in the background
I thought you’d gone
moved on
for sure you were silent for a while
but I heard a whisper the other day
thought it was but a dream
whisper turned to scream
you’ve hooked me now,
hooked me how
just when I thought I was free,
dragged back into the pit
dragged by that dog
ripping, pulling, tearing
no use fighting

anymore

falling

summer time, green and fresh
clinging to your branch
high in the sky
breeze blows, rustles you
but you hang on
easily now
unstoppable;

the wind blows colder now
and you’ve grown older,
frail now
clinging on in quiet desperation, struggling
live to cling, live to survive
friends drop off, last one left

icy cold gust
slices through you,
dislodged
fall from your perch
gracefully now, without a care
accepting fate, rejecting hate
embrace what’s fair

gold lining

started out soft pink, now a cool white
streaked, across the sky
up there where birds fly high
painted on the blue canvas
sun rays burst from the gold lined cloud
changing colour by the second
cool breeze cuts through the fog
finally I think I’ve lost the dog
as people go about their day
there’s something in the world to say
peace of mind is on the way

matter

a ball, a point in space

floating there, suspended in time

infinite small, a thousand wrapped dimensions

expanding, inconceivably fast

a swirling soup of energy

lumps form and begin to fold around themselves

denser by the second

still you keep on growing

try to keep us from ever knowing

complex elements begin to form

then aeons later, on a distant rock

we comprehend this as the norm.

spin

sprinting

running

fullpace

nothing can slow me down now

every night

i run towards the edge

jump off

falling now

alone

lost control

terrified but exhilarated

im free, i think its the end

all so real

Smack

im down

wide awake, in a sweat

3am

brain spins

get up and have a drink

so i can do it all again

interweb

High tensile, strung between window sill, wall, and gutter
how did you make that, clever invention
Adapt to our building, become part of it
making the most of what you have
you sit there, jet black silhouette, ‘gainst the grey sky
legs spread, waiting, watching the world go by
what do you think, of all this we’ve made
do you think anything of it, sitting in the shade
it must seem vaguely strange though
your deeper instincts must know…..
